The Adventures of Lily (spoiler alert, it's mostly snuggling)

I believe it is time for an update on my reading partner, Lily! She's really my partner in everything, because she literally won't leave me alone. Lily follows me everywhere around the house and is involved in everything I do, even blogging! I have something around, I'm not sure, 500 photos of her in my phone? And I've always wanted to share them with everyone, so I figure this is a great place to do that!

So Lily has had me wrapped around her little paw from day one, and I'm pretty sure she knows it. But she's just so cute, it makes it difficult to tell her "no." Just take a look at these early photos of her, and you'll understand. Just look at little Lily playing on her cat tower. Adorable.

At first, Lily was pretty timid around us, shockingly. She got startled by things easily. On her second night with us, she was in the room when I started my hair dryer. BIG mistake. She didn't let me touch her for almost an entire day after that. But she came back around once she realized I wouldn't always be making a loud, scary noise. Now, she's not afraid of the hair dryer, but it took some time to get there.

It became obvious pretty quick that she was going to be my snuggle buddy. Lily wants our undivided attention, 24/7. She won't get that from my husband but she knows she can with me, and boy does she use it to her advantage. I have a video of the moment that started it all (I'll add it below). All she had to do was meow a little bit, and I'd start petting her. Then she was satisfied. So basically, I taught her that all she has to do is meow and I'll come running to see what's wrong and give her pets. So, as you can imagine, she is still quite vocal with me. And forceful when it comes to snuggle time. When I'm cooking dinner, she'll get very impatient for her couch snuggles and bite my legs to hurry me up. If I give her some shredded cheese from the fridge, that usually buys me some time before she starts climbing on me!

This is said video mentioned in the above paragraph. Please enjoy watching me get trained by my kitten to pet her whenever she so pleases.

If you watch the video, you'll understand why she is so hard to resist. She's just so cute! And even though she has grown quite a bit, she's still a sweet pea.

When she first started cuddling on the couch, she really liked sitting near my face and neck. Seriously, she was smothering me.

But the older Lily got, the more she liked sitting next to me or on my lap so she could soak in all the heat from my electric blanket. We're both cold natured, so it works out good for the both of us.

I joke around and tell me husband that one day, I hope he looks at me the way Lily looks at us. Look at those little eyes so full of love! We've honestly started to get suspicious that we may both have a bit of an allergy to Lily, but she can't live with anyone else. She's our "baby" if you know what I mean!

So as you can see, Lily and I do share one hobby, and that's getting under a blanket. And napping, especially on Sundays. But we do, of course, do other things together. One thing Lily likes to watch me do is work with the Cricut. If you haven't heard of the Cricut, it's a crafting machine that can cut vinyl and all sorts of other materials for projects. I mostly use mine to cut iron on vinyl to make T shirts. Here she is in the next photos below, checking out what I'm doing. She loves to smoosh her nose underneath the glass table and leave me little nose prints as a gift. If you look close enough, you can see them. We do not have this table anymore, and I am certain Lily misses it!

Well, that's it for today on Lily's adventures! She's quite cute and don't worry, I have plenty of other photos and videos. I'll have to keep you updated on her other adventures! Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of this post for one last bonus photo of Lily acting like a cat model.

From Lily, and myself, happy reading!
